Find out what people have said about Cardiff Male Choir’s appearances at weddings and concerts

Wedding of Kelly and Nick, 2nd April 2018 – The Coal Exchange, Cardiff Following the brief chat I had with you after Nick and Kelly’s wedding, I just wanted to say again how very much I appreciated the Choir’s contribution to the day’s success. Having been associated with choral groups both as a singer and conductor for more years than I care to remember, I fully appreciate the amount of work that went into producing the singing of so many pieces in several different styles, all presented to a very high standard. The choir’s sound and tuning were good and I particular applaud your distinctive conducting and the very sensitive and supportive work of the accompanist. Congratulations too on the excellent turnout of uniform concert dress and on the commendable level of numbers performed from memory. Please convey my thanks and congratulations to all involved in such a memorable and enjoyable performance at all levels! Yours, Ray Jones

Visit Wales Conference, 8th February 2018 – National Museum of Wales Dear Emma and John Thank you so much to you and your wonderful choir for providing us with a spectacular entrance to our Annual Awards Dinner at the National Museum last week. My delegates were completely blown away by the performance and I think you may have gone viral on social media! The aim of our conference was to showcase the cultural and tourism excellence of Wales and to build new business for the country – your performance was a visible demonstration of the rich culture that Wales has to offer and of course, the fantastic welcome! As a choir member myself, I know how much work goes into preparing for these events, so do please pass on my thanks to each and every member of the choir. With best wishes Deirdre Wells OBE Chief Executive Officer UKinbound Chair, The Tourism Alliance   Thank you so much for all your help and the choir performance last night. It was amazing & such a positive reaction from the delegates. Judith Newton

Wedding of Jodie Williams and Michael Perry, 22nd April 2017
Just wanted to say a great big massive Thank You to you and all the Choir members for last Saturday. SO many of our guests have commented on how fantastic it was at the Church with the choir and I’ve been lucky enough to see some videos people took of the songs before I arrived. For me, being announced as Mr and Mrs and starting to exit the Church to Men of Harlech is something that is always going to stick (just felt absolutely blimmin epic to be honest!) The guys were absolutely fantastic – and such a lovely bunch you all are too So thank you a million times over, Much love, Jodie & Mike x

Entertainment at England Vs Wales 6 Nations Rugby Dinner. 11th February 2017 What a wonderful performance the Cardiff Male Choir put on for our special event Saturday 11th February. The repertoire was excellent and varied with a lovely Welsh significance. The requests were sung with great gusto and throughout they smiled. The conductor held them in her gaze at each rendition and they responded with great respect, true professionals. It was an absolute joy to meet this choir, the conductor and their organ playing assistant. We will certainly be looking to have them again, as we would not be disappointed. All who attended including the celebs. were talking about them after they left and were also enthralled. A truly memorable evening made even more special by these men. Kind regards, Huw & Margaret

Thank you for a fabulous performance from the choir. It was absolutely amazing and everyone is talking about how amazing you and the choir were. We are currently away on honeymoon and I checked Facebook last night and even all the lads are talking about the choir and the songs they sang saying how great they were! One of the ushers even asked the DJ in Ten Mill Lane nightclub at 4.30am to play Love Changes Everything and She after the wedding party had finished!! Once again, thank you all for your efforts, you made the ceremony extra special and did a fabulous performance. All the guests were talking about the choir long into the night! Best regards Jonathan

St Davids Day Celebration Choir Raises The Village Hall Roof!StDavidChoir2016

Turn out again was great! For the second year running, Graig and Penllyn welcomed the Cardiff Male Choir to its St David’s Day Celebration Event held in the village hall on Saturday 27th February. The aim of the event was again to give a village focus for recognising St David’s Day – a tradition that should not be lost. It was also an opportunity for people to get together and enjoy an evening of traditional entertainment in our re-furbished Village Hall and to raise funds. The biggest thanks for the evening goes to Cardiff Male Choir, who donated their time and effort free-of-charge. The hosts made sure they were given a very warm welcome. We were treated to a variety of songs, ranging from Welsh favorites and folk songs to ballads and 60’s memories. Their rendition of “Luck Be A Lady” – featured in the musical Guys and Dolls – set the scene for a superbly well-supported raffle. Penllyn & Craig Penllyn Village committee

St David’s Day Concert at St Faith’s Church, 1st March 2013 “Thank you to the Cardiff Male Choir for a wonderful concert at St Faith’s church on St David’s Day.  I left the concert with joy singing in my heart”….. Joan T “We would like to thank you and those who organised the event, for such a lovely and happy evening we enjoyed at St Faith’s with the Cardiff Male Choir. It is always a pleasure to attend events if only for the very warm welcome you give. It was a particularly interesting evening for me as at the end one of the choir members came up to me and said, ‘I think I know you’ – ah, I thought at my age!! but it was quite true – it was some years ago and we only met once when he helped us move house. Why did he remember – I fed them homemade leek and potato soup, crusty bread etc., and most of all he remembered the soup. To come to St Faith’s is like my soup – you always remember the warm welcome. All good wishes and thanks………Pete & Gill” To find out more about St Faith’s church, clink on the following link: St Faith’s Church _____________________________________________________________________________________The Wedding of Alex Torrie and Elizabeth Hayward, 6th October 2012, Llandaff Cathedral

I would like to say a very big ‘Thank you’ to you, Emma, and all the Choir. The singing was fantastic and truly was the icing on the cake – a beautiful ceremony in a beautiful setting with a wonderful choir. We received many compliments about the choir afterwards and the Irish contingency definitely appreciated ‘Danny Boy’.

.

I could go on and on, but suffice to say that we were so happy that we had asked you to perform. Best money spent on the day! Sincere best wishes to all,

Hilary, John, Elizabeth and Alex x

PSUK Presentation Dinner, Fundraising for Cancer Research, 22nd April 2012
Thank you and the choir for agreeing to come along and sing at our presentation dinner last sunday evening. You were all fantastic and everyone there was raving about you all night and I am still getting facebook messages, emails and texts from people thanking me for a fab weekend topped off by the choir on sunday evening.  I think the only complaint would be that they wanted the guys to sing for longer!!

This year the genersl opinion was that they would have rathered listen to your guys singing a bit more. You will be pleased to know that on Sunday we raised £867.58 for Cancer Research Wales.

Rhoose concert Fri 25th April 2008 “National Coastwatch Institution Nells Pt, Barry Island, earlier this year was delighted to host a Concert in partnership with the Cardiff Male Voice Choir. Held at Rhoose Community hall, the Choir provided a most enjoyable evening of song to an audience gathered from across the Vale. The Choir’s repertoire includes a full range of songs from light classics to traditional airs. Something to please all tastes. This is the second year we at NCI have had the support of the Choir, as a Charity we are completely self funding. The Choir’s support and involvement help us to raise much needed funds to operate our Watch Station at Nells Pt. Our remit being to keep watch over the local waters, reporting any incidents of distress or persons in difficulty to HM Coastguard. Thank you to all members of the Choir for giving so freely of their time and providing us with such an entertaining evening.” Clive Wilton Station Manager.

“A really enjoyable evening, with the enthusiasm of the choir showing that they enjoyed the performance as much as the audience. Their well thought out programme contained something to suit all tastes, with pieces from opera, folk, popular musicals and even Africa! I hope it will not be too long before I have the privilege of hearing them again” Regards, Val Wilton

As one of those involved in getting the evening organised and assisting with the running I must express my gratitude for the brilliant evening the choir delivered……….I hope we can continue to co-operate in the coming years. Many thanks and best wishes to the Choir.
