Autumn Events

Cardiff Male Choir have had a busy few weeks, singing at charity concerts across Cardiff and at number of weddings.

Last Saturday, we travelled to Merthyr Tydfil to perform at the Wedding of Sharon and Robert. A very special guest appeared at the wedding – an owl! Ruby the owl delivered the weddings rings with her talons to the best man, sweeping across the congregation. The choir were lucky enough to have a photo with her at the end of the service.

The choir performed a concert to raise funds for the Scouts last Friday. The choir are invited every year to perform and are privileged to assist Mary with her fundraising for the scouts.

And finally, Cardiff Male Choir performed at St Augustine’s church to raise money for Guide Dogs for the Blind. The concert was a huge success and it was lovely to see so many canine audience members!

 A Very Special Wedding

On a wonderful sunny day, one of the choir’s newest choristers walked his daughter down the aisle. The choir were delighted to sing at the wedding of Cath Webber and Richard Matthams on Saturday 13th of September.

The choir performed Welsh traditional items before the service, and were later joined by the Father of the Bride. Our Chairman even joked that he had ‘turned up late, but finally made it to sing for the signing of the register!’.

Many commented on the choir’s addition to the service…

‘I love singing, and nobody does it better than a Welsh Male Voice Choir’.

‘I’m not religious, but when I heard all of the hymns being sung so powerfully, I cried’.

The Bride: ‘I can’t wait to see the DVD of all of the choir singing because everyone raved about them – and I missed it all!’.

Introducing Mrs Drysdale

Introducing Mrs Drysdale

Last weekend, the choir left Cardiff for Knowle, Solihull to sing at the wedding of one of our superb accompanists, Becky Shipley (now Drysdale). Becky and Hal chose some of their favourite items for the choir to perform, including ‘Tydi A Roddaist’, ‘Salm 23’, ‘She’, ‘When I Fall In Love’ and ‘Calon Lan’.

It was a privilege to sing at the wedding of Becky and Hal – and the choir wishes Mr and Mrs Drysdale many years of happiness.
