COME AND JOIN US!
Cardiff Male Choir was founded 123 years ago during the reign of Queen Victoria. The choir has survived two World Wars, 24 different prime ministers and several pandemics. And after the most recent COVID 19 pandemic the choir is still singing.
After the outbreak of COVID 19, the choir had to cancel numerous performances, wedding engagements, a tour to Scotland and hosting a major American choir and regular practices were suspended.
The choir maintained contact with each other via regular Zoom rehearsals and, following rigorous Risk Assessments and Government advice, are now able to meet again indoors still observing Welsh government guidelines and wearing professional singers’ masks.
Some changes have taken place with the choir now established in its new home of Cardiff High School Old Boys Rugby Club at the Diamond Ground Whitchurch. The new Chairman is Bryan Webber and the Vice Chairman is Andy Morris. The musical team under the direction of Tim Goss remains the same.
The choir has a varied repertoire of traditional Welsh favourites, songs from musicals, modern popular songs and we are always looking to add new materials to our collection.
Cardiff Male Choir has many regular bookings at functions during rugby Internationals which are always hugely enjoyable.
A few choristers have not yet returned after the pandemic whilst some new members are adding to the strength of the choir. It is comforting to know that whilst some Male Voice Choirs are folding, Cardiff Male Choir continues through difficult times.

The choir welcomes anyone with an interest in singing, especially within a very sociable environment. Rehearsals are held every Wednesday evening at 7pm at the Diamond Ground, Whitchurch and you can express an interest by telephoning the Chairman on 07968 045005 or by just turning up at the rehearsal evenings.

Tony Jones
It is with the greatest sadness that we have to announce the death of choir member, Tony Jones. Tony was a superb second tenor who contributed greatly to the life and spirit of the choir. One of the last occasions on which we enjoyed his company was at our social evening last Christmas, when Tony entertained us playing his guitar and singing. Shortly after he was cruelly diagnosed with cancer of the throat. He will be sorely missed. Our sympathy and condolences go to his wife Pat and his family.
